Responsibilities include

  • Lead and manage the tax team with a focus on business development in tax compliance and consulting work.
  • Assist the Tax partner in preparing the annual budgets and to ensure that the same are achieved effectively.
  • Collaborate and provide assistance to the team leaders and clients in various tax matters.
  • Initiate, improve and simplify taxation work and processes to bring in efficiency, effectiveness and enhanced quality of the work.
  • Execute and / or supervise the tax team on various assignments.
  • Take a lead role to develop thought leadership articles for sharing with the clientele and other stakeholders, develop various client publications, host client events and seminars and other presentations.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic relationship with BURS.
  • Prepare and submit tax work proposals and follow up on the same for successful conversions.
  • Lead training initiatives, guide and mentor team members and be actively involved in their development and growth.
  • Spearhead the tax team, both professional and non-professional tax staff in hiring, performance management and maintaining a dynamic team.

Qualification and experience

Candidate should have a professional qualification such as BICA / ACCA / CIMA / CA or any equivalent qualification, and a minimum of 10-15 years post qualification experience. The candidate if selected will be reporting directly to the Partner in charge of Tax. The candidate must be assertive, self-driven, creative, decisive and possess multi-tasking ability and leadership qualities in order to meet up to the expectations on the job. The candidate should also have excellent people management skills, with strong drive and confidence to take charge of the growth of the team. Prior work experience in a CA firm will be given preference. The position will be offered based on the experience, skills and competencies of the person.

Competencies candidate must have

Knowledge of international tax practices and laws, knowledge of expatriate taxation, general knowledge of tax and VAT laws, and excellent skills in interpretation of legislation & regulations are essential requirements. Knowledge of transfer pricing and related aspects will be an added advantage. Candidate should also have a proven track record of outstanding performance and display high level of people management and business skills, etc.
