David has been with the Audit assurance team of Grant Thornton for over 4 years. He has a keen interest in financial reporting especially of companies in financial service sector and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) compliance of Small to Medium size Enterprises (SMEs).
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, David worked as a part time Accountant for Talmed and Mall Clinic for over 2 years. Part of his duties included drafting quarterly management accounts, VAT computations and filing, filing of withholding tax returns and finalisation of accounts.
On completion of his Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) studies, he joined Grant Thornton to pursue his passion for challenging assignments in financial reporting and statutory audit, and accomplish his goal of being a fully qualified Chartered Accountant. Post qualification, David has been involved in numerous audits in the financial service sector, commercial industry and parastatals.
David has been involved in statutory audits in various sectors notably financial services, commercial, parastatals, tourism and real estate. Key clients he has worked on include Bank of Baroda Botswana, Bank of Botswana, Bank SBI Botswana, Turnstar Holdings, Institute of Development Management and Botswana National Sports Commission.
Professional qualifications and memberships
David is a member of ACCA, and an associate certified professional member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). He is currently pursuing a Diploma in IFRS.
David is involved in various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities of Grant Thornton in Botswana, the latest being Tshwaragano Primary School adopted in line with the “Adopt a school” program.

David has been a member of Grant Thornton’s corporate Toastmasters club since 2015 which has facilitated development of communication and leadership skills.
