Oreneile Molatlhegi is a Manager in the Assurance Division with over 10 years’ experience in the field.
Oreneile joined Grant Thornton in 2012 as a BICA trainee. She worked her way up to Assistant Manager position. After leaving Grant Thornton on a job transition basis, she joined MSD Mesotlo and Associates as an Associate Director. She later rejoined Grant Thornton in 2023 as Manager. She qualified in 2016 as one of the first BICA graduates in the country. Oreneile has been in charge of external audit assignments which includes monitoring audit engagements, planning and allocation of resources, client liaison, on job training and conducting external engagements.
Oreneile has been involved in audit engagements for diverse portfolio such as real estate, distribution, parastatals and non-profit organisations.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Oreneile has completed the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and is a Fellow Member of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA), and a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Oreneile has experience in operating various software to execute audit methodology, such as IDEA, Voyager (Grant Thornton patented tool for identification of financial statement risks and linkage to the processes and internal controls established to address those risks).
Oreneile participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities such as Learn to Play Bontleng community (2021), SSVP Christ the King Cathedral in Gaborone-west (2021/20), COVID-19 National Relief Fund (2020), Tswaragano Primary School in Old Naledi (2022/19/18/17).
