Surabhi has been with Grant Thornton for over 3 years, currently serving as an Assistant manager in the Audit Assurance division.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Surabhi completed a 3 month internship with Aganall Consultancy in 2008. She then worked in the teaching field for over three years, and began her professional career with Grant Thornton as a Trainee executive in the Finance & Administration division, where she gained experience for 3 years. During the period, she was responsible for overseeing and reviewing finance related activities. Surabhi is currently part of the Assurance division where she provides audit services to a wide variety of clients, and is responsible for planning, fieldwork, and completion of assignments.
Surabhi has worked with clients from various sectors which include service, manufacturing, construction, property rental, etc. She has also worked on a secondment assignment for Orange Botswana as part of Grant Thornton, and has vast teaching experience in the education sector.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Surabhi completed her Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) degree from the University of Botswana in 2009. She then pursued her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Murray State University in the United States of America which she was awarded in 2011. She then completed her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2014. She is a member of ACCA, and an associate certified professional accountant member of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
The firm and its people actively participate in giving back to the local community. Our most recent contributions include the National COVID-19 Relief Fund and support provided to Tshwaragano Primary School on Grant Thornton annual CSR day 2017, 2018 and 2019
Presentations and publications
Surabhi has been a member of Grant Thornton’s corporate Toastmasters club, which has facilitated development of communication and leadership skills. She served as Sargent at Arms in 2015/2016, Secretary in 2016/17 and Vice President Public Relations in 2018/19 and 2019/2020. She has achieved ‘Competent Leader’, ‘Competent Communicator’ and ‘Pathways (Presentation Mastery) Level 1 status.
She has also been part of conducting Greatsoft trainings at Grant Thornton.
