For many years, Grant Thornton Botswana has been committed to making a difference in people’s lives and giving back to the local community through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. “GT (Growing Together) in the community” is a core pillar of our global strategy and also the basis of our annual “Global CSR Day”.
Every year on this day, Grant Thornton member firms all over the world engage in community service and collectively celebrate giving back to worthy causes in their respective communities. On the Global CSR Day, Grant Thornton Botswana not only gives donations, but also spends the day interacting and building relationships with local communities. Some of our beneficiaries include Mmankgodi community childcare project, Bird life Botswana, Dinaletsana development centre, Botswana substance abuse support network (BOSASNet), Pudulogong Rehabilitation and Development Trust for the blind (PUREDET), Child line, Gomudubu child care trust, and Tshwaragano Primary School.
Other than Global CSR Day, Grant Thornton is involved in an array of CSR causes which include providing financial support and voluntary support to non-profit making organizations that undertake worthy causes such as supporting disadvantaged children and communities, children with autism, building schools in remote locations of the country, training people to represent the country at international sports platforms, provision of honorary financial services to NGOs, community service organisations and professional bodies.
Over the years we have extended our support to Botswana Foundation Trust, Nomads Botswana, Gaborone Masonic Trust, Botswana Tamil Association, Boitumelo Foundation, Ladies circle, Sargam Trust, BHCT, Northside Primary Lions Club, Telugu Association of Botswana, Botswana Chess Federation, Kerala Samajam Botswana, Cancer association of Botswana, Childline, Good shepherd perish, and Business Botswana, among others.

We also have a special inclination towards education and academic development, and have accordingly supported CIMA top achieving students, UB foundation fundraising, Thornhill primary school fundraising Broadhurst primary school PTA fundraising, BICA Academic sponsorships among others.
