Role Overview

The Manager – Business Risk Services is responsible for delivering high-quality, profitable, and timely Business Risk Services engagements in line with professional standards, firm policies, and client expectations. The role also focuses on managing and mentoring team members, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to the strategic growth of the BRS service line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end internal audit and Business Risk Services engagements, including risk assessment, planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Ensure high-quality planning documents, Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs), working papers, and reports in line with Grant Thornton International (GTI) standards.
  • Review and sign off engagement deliverables to ensure compliance with quality management and risk policies.
  • Manage client relationships, lead client meetings, and provide value-adding insights on risk, control, and governance matters.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including client prospecting and engagement development.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop executives, associates, and assistants through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Monitor engagement budgets, time recording and contribution margin.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, including the Quality Management Manual, Advisory Services Manual, HR, IT, and risk policies.
  • Play a lead role in internal and external quality reviews and ensure timely implementation of recommendations.

Experience and skills required:

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CFE) or a Master’s degree in Finance or Commerce.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience in Business Risk Services, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), or Internal Audit.
  • Proven experience in internal audit, governance, and risk management engagements.
  • Experience in a professional services firm or a large private/public sector organisation.
  • Solid understanding of global internal audit standards, risk management frameworks, and business continuity management.
  • Prior experience in supervising and managing teams.
