Amuchilani N Tsayang

Amuchilani is an Assistant Manager in Grant Thornton’s People and Culture division. He has been with the firm for over a decade, primarily in the finance and administration division, and has gained more than two years of experience in the human resources sector.

Experience

In his current role at Grant Thornton, Amuchilani oversees workforce management including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, payroll, benefits and compliance. He also ensures the effective execution of the People and Culture division’s financial functions. 

Sector experience

Amuchilani’s career spans multiple industries including financial services, mining and engineering where he has worked in finance roles. His portfolio also included human resources management in the mining and engineering sectors.

Professional qualifications and memberships

Amuchilani holds a Bachelor in Finance from the University of Botswana and Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). He is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of Botswana. He also holds a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Short Term and Long-term Insurance.

Technological proficiency 

Amuchilani is proficient in using Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel for accounting and data analysis. He has extensive experience working with various accounting and finance software, including GreatSoft, Xero accounting, Pastel, Quickbooks desktop enterprise, ESS and Sage VIP payroll for financial management. Additionally, he is well-versed in using the BURS online platform for tax compliance and filing.

Community involvement

Amuchilani participates in the firm’s CSR initiatives. Grant Thornton has supported various local communities such as Learn to Play Bontleng community (2021), SSVP Christ the King Cathedral in Gaborone-west (2021/20), COVID-19 National Relief Fund (2020), Tswaragano Primary School in Old Naledi (2019/18/17).
