Anthony is in charge of the Business process solutions division, which includes client accounting, payroll and other related services. He came to Botswana in 1992, he is a naturalised citizen of Botswana.
Experience
Anthony joined Grant Thornton in 2001 in the Accounting and Taxation division as an Executive and has spearheaded several major accounting assignments. He has been the manager-in-charge specialising in VAT consulting and compliance, company share valuations, management accounting systems, company financial statements finalisations and VIP Payroll systems.
Sector experience
Anthony provides advice on portfolio management, more especially for related and group company structures. Currently he attends to clients on matters related to business accounting, tax related matters, monthly management reporting, VAT and payroll processing and administration.
He also provides soft skills support in the area of Pastel related problems, Caseware Working Papers, VIP Payroll system trouble shooting and general soft skills support. Anthony is also a Xero Cloud Accounting Certified advisor.
Anthony is also a compliance officer and spearheads the AML / CFTP implementation and training.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Anthony completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Botswana in 1997. He then completed his Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) examinations in 2000, and is currently an associate member in good standing of CIMA. He is also a fellow member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). He also gained an associate membership of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has been granted the designation CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant).
Technological Proficiency
Anthony has extensive experience operating various software to execute accounting methodology, such as XERO for cloud-based accounting, PASTEL for general accounting and CaseWare for finalisation of accounts. Furthermore, he is proficient in using Microsoft Office applications to bring quality to different assignments
Community involvement
Anthony has been a member of the Private Business Growth Awards internal judges panel since 2015. Presented in association with Business Botswana and Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), this initiative is Grant Thornton’s biggest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity that encourages and honours the development of growing private businesses in the country, and led to a partnership with USAID Trade Hub to present the “Botswana Exporter of the Year” awards.
Anthony participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities such as Learn to Play Bontleng community (2021), SSVP Christ the King Cathedral in Gaborone-west (2021/20), COVID-19 National Relief Fund (2020), Tswaragano Primary School in Old Naledi (2022/19/18/17).

Anthony has been a member of Grant Thornton’s corporate Toastmasters club since 2015, which has facilitated development of communication and leadership skills.
