Kaone is an Associate Director in the Assurance team and has over 14 years of work experience.
Experience
Kaone worked at KPMG for a period of 3 years before joining Grant Thornton in 2015 as an Executive and moved up the ranks to Manager in 2018, serving in that role until 2022. She rejoined Grant Thornton in 2023 and was appointed Associate Director in 2026.
She is involved in managing key audit assignments, in-house training of the recently joined staff and executive trainees with regard to the audit software used by Grant Thornton as well as various other audit standards and methodology adopted by the firm.

Professional qualifications and memberships
Kaone has completed the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and is an Associate member of the institute. She is a Fellow member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA), and an Associate Certified Professional member (ACPA) of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
Technological proficiency
Kaone has extensive experience operating various software to execute audit methodology, such as IDEA (data analysis), LEAP (Grant Thornton patented tool for identification of financial statement risks and linkage to the processes and internal controls established to address those risks) and TeamMate (audit workflow). Furthermore, she is also proficient in using Microsoft Office applications to ensure quality of work.
Community involvement
Kaone participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities paying special attention to the upliftment of education in Botswana.
In her personal capacity, Kaone serves as the National Chairperson of the Independent Assemblies of Botswana Children’s Ministry.
