Experience
After completion of her Bachelor of Accountancy with the University of Botswana, Neo worked with Deloitte for a period of 3 years. She joined Grant Thornton in 2023 as a Manager. Other than managing key audit assignments, Neo is also involved in the in-house training of the recently joined staff and executive trainees with regard to the audit software used by Grant Thornton as well as various other audit standards and methodology adopted by the firm.
Sector experience
Neo has been involved in external audits assignments for a diverse clientele, involving large manufacturing, construction, trading, non-profitable organisations and service industry clients.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Neo attained her Bachelor of Accountancy with the University of Botswana and is a fellow member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
Technological proficiency
Neo has extensive experience operating various software to execute audit methodology, such as IDEA (data analysis), Voyager (Grant Thornton patented tool for identification of financial statement risks and linkage to the processes and internal controls established to address those risks) and TeamMate (audit workflow). Furthermore, she is also proficient in using Microsoft Office applications to ensure quality of work.
Community involvement
Neo participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities such as Learn to Play Bontleng community (2021), SSVP Christ the King Cathedral in Gaborone-west (2021/20), COVID-19 National Relief Fund (2020), Tswaragano Primary School in Old Naledi (2022/19/18/17).
