Prasanth Pemmasani joined Grant Thornton in 2025. He is a Senior Manager in the Assurance team and has over 20 years of work experience.
Experience
Prasanth qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He was actively involved in the audits of various organisations and banks in India.
Prasanth worked in Botswana with AA Professional Services North (Pty) Ltd., for a period of 20 years. Prasanth joined Grant Thornton in 2025 as a Senior Manager. He is involved in managing key audit assignments in the Northern division of Botswana.
Sector experience
Prasanth has been in charge of the external audits and other assignments for a diverse clientele in the sectors of manufacturing, real estate, construction, hospitality, heath care, education, trading, non-profitable organisations and service industry.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Prasanth is a Fellow member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) and Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He is also a BCom graduate from University of Madras, India.
Technological proficiency
Prasanth has extensive experience in operating various software to execute audit methodology, such as IDEA (data analysis), LEAP (Grant Thornton patented tool for identification of financial statement risks and linkage to the processes and internal controls established to address those risks) and CaseWare (compilation of financial statements). Furthermore, he is also proficient in using Microsoft Office applications to ensure quality of work.
Community involvement
Prasanth participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities paying special attention to the upliftment of education in Botswana.
In his personal capacity, Prasanth is an active member of Lions Club International, an international service organisation. He was a Past President and Past Treasurer of Lions Club of Francistown, Botswana.
