Mothusi is an Assistant Manager in the Advisory division with more than 7 years cumulative experience in Risk management, Business Continuity Management, Compliance management, Corporate Governance, Strategy and Financial Crime Management. She joined Grant Thornton’s Advisory services division in 2023.
Experience
Mothusi provides internal audit services in medium to large organisations. Drive business development to grow and develop the BRS service line), End-to-end management of engagement lifecycle for co-source and outsourced engagements including risk assessment, planning, delivery and reporting, lead client meetings to provide progress updates and respond to queries and requests.
She also does compilation of working papers, Risk and Control Matrices (RACM) and detailed reports are prepared in line with Grant Thornton International and firm’s Quality Management Manual requirements and standards. Gain comprehensive understanding of clients' business operations and strategic objectives and utilise such knowledge on engagement. Research and propose firm conclusions in respect of technical issues identified during fieldwork and agree resolutions with senior manager.
Mothusi ensures submission of quality deliverables to clients in line with agreed scope and timelines, and support senior manager on presentation of deliverables to clients, ensure various internal procedures (quality control / risk management) stipulated by Grant Thornton International (GTI) are complied with on all assignments and properly documented.
Build business intelligence on at least one of the focus industries, and support Advisory Services team in coming up with Thought Leadership articles on periodic basis.

Professional qualifications and memberships
Mothusi is a Business Continuity Management-Lead Implementer holds a Certificate in Compliance Management, Certificate in Corporate Governance and Lead Auditor BOS ISO 9001:2015- Botswana Bureau of Standards and Certificate in Risk Oversight. She is an Associate- Professional Risk Manager and Associate- Certified Fraud Examiners.
Technological proficiency
Mothusi has extensive experience operating various audit management softwares, Process flow / mapping tools as well as data analysis tools. She has experience in using Microsoft Office Pack.
Community involvement
Mothusi participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of- the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities such as Learn to Play Bontleng community (2021), SSVP Christ the King Cathedral in Gaborone-west (2021/20), COVID-19 National Relief Fund (2020), Tswaragano Primary School in Old Naledi (2022/19/18/17).
In her personal capacity, Mothusi mentors young professionals in Risk and Compliance management in the SADC region volunteer in an NGO routed in Angola that has brought SADC country representatives to tackle humanitarian issues in different SADC countries. She is a founder- Lian’s HeartIt is a charitable organisation with special focus on poverty struck communities and the girl child.
