Abhishek is a Senior Manager in the Business Process Solutions division with over 10 years’ experience in the accounting industry. He started his career with Grant Thornton in Francistown as a Senior Executive. He then worked for CaseWare International for 5 years, and re-joined Grant Thornton as a Senior Manager in 2021.
Abhishek joined Grant Thornton Botswana after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant from India. After his initial term with Grant Thornton, he joined CaseWare International as a Technical Consultant and was promoted to a Product Manager. He re-joined Grant Thornton as a Senior Manager in 2021. Currently, Abhishek also serves as a member of Board of Studies of a reputed College in India.
Abhishek’s expertise is in International Financial Reporting Standards. He has been involved in the preparation and finalisation of annual financial statements of various entities including listed companies. He is also involved in management reporting, account finalisations and client trainings. Abhishek was the key architect in building CaseWare’s cloud-based audit solution for Indian auditors, and successfully promoting it. He has also been actively involved in setting up audit workflows for various organisations
Abhishek has experience with the preparation of management accounts, finalisation of accounts for audit purpose, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and company and individual tax computation for clients from various sectors such as telecommunication, hospitality, architecture, trading, etc.
Abhishek is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Abhishek has extensive experience operating various software to execute accounting methodology, such as XERO for cloud-based accounting, PASTEL for general accounting and CaseWare for finalisation of accounts. Furthermore, he is proficient in using Microsoft Office applications to bring quality to different assignments
Abhishek participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities such as Learn to Play Bontleng community (2021), SSVP Christ the King Cathedral in Gaborone-west (2021/20), COVID-19 National Relief Fund (2020), Tswaragano Primary School in Old Naledi (2022/19/18/17).
Abhishek is a frequent speaker at various seminars and events conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, on subjects such as the impact of technology on accountants.
