Leteng is an Information technology professional with over 8 years of experience in IT. He has been associated with Grant Thornton since 2015.
Leteng has extensive experience in the field of ICT services, audit tools and Microsoft technologies. He started his career working as an IT technician at Maikano Junior Secondary School before joining Grant Thornton as an IT technician. He was later promoted to Officer and then Network administrator. He played a major part in configuring, installation, maintenance of hardware and software, which are used in one of the largest audit firms globally. Also plays a role in organizing cyber security awareness training to promote data security within the firm for the all the users. A team play in the GCCR team – global cybersecurity compliance (helping the firm which help member firms to meet global standards & local cybersecurity & privacy compliance needs).
Coordinating and executing internal cyber security audit and assure the IT team apply and adhere to a suitable Information security framework (NIST) which forms significant part of the Global cybersecurity compliance. Execute internal Technical Security Reviews management, system development lifecycle, access control management, network and comms security, third-party risk management, vulnerability management, threat & incident management, data classification & handling security, awareness & training, compliance audits, management of removable media, physical security, web application security & operational security.
Furthermore, on occasion, Leteng assists the assurance team with IT audits.
Leteng in his current role is managing Grant Thornton Botswana Information Technology Infrastructure, work with the IT director to execute IT governance, IT risk management, vulnerability assessment, IT audit, cyber security compliance, data protection gap assessment and information security framework. Leteng’s IT audit responsibilities and experience entails managing, planning and execution of IT audit engagements for a variety of dynamic IT audit engagements or clients, identifying weaknesses in the system and creating action plans to prevent security breaches, planning internal audit procedures, creating internal audit reports, incident response plan, disaster recovery, cloud computing, risk assessment plan.
Performing IT general controls review to address the overall operation and activities of the IT function and its management and governance. This entails observing and gathering evidence to obtain an understanding of the IT control environment on the assignment. Examine internal IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, determine exposure to risk. Assess risk management tactics and develop testing strategies for key controls within the business to adequately mitigate the risks.
Leteng has acquired a Bachelor of Science in computing, majoring in network engineering from Teesside University (UK), Certified Risk in Information System (CRISC), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified information security manager (CISM), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) ,Microsoft Certified: Azure, Fortinet’s Network Security Expert, CyberArk Certified Trustee, AccessData Certified Investigator, and his currently pursuing MSc Information security and digital forensics (University of East London, UK), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).
Leteng is well adept with operating different software used by clients from across different industries. His speciality is in Microsoft server management, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Sage, ERP D365 platform, CyberArk, SAP, Linux Operating system, Fort iGATE, Sophos firewall, Cobit frameworks, ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security framework, Operating systems, IT risk management frameworks, Data classifications and Virtual machine: VM. Furthermore, he is proficient in using Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Microsoft Power BI tools to bring value to different tasks.
Leteng participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities such as Learn to Play Bontleng community (2021), SSVP Christ the King Cathedral in Gaborone-west (2021/20), COVID-19 National Relief Fund (2020), Tswaragano Primary School in Old Naledi (2022/19/18/17).
As part of his Bachelors qualification, Leteng developed a “Livestock Management System”.
